My fully equipped sound proof studio is located in Park Street (AL2), I will give you the full address when you book a lesson. I keep the exact location a secret from the general internet as you can imagine!

The drum kit is a very tough, physical instrument, it’s tall and not designed for small children. I would say that 8 is the perfect age to start, however, if you have a son or daughter who is tall for their age and knows their lefts/rights then it is possible to start younger. Just expect smaller kids to learn at a much slower rate!

I take payments through online bank transfers and keep a register of what we’ve used. You’ll only use what you use so you don’t need to worry if you pay for a batch of lessons and then go on holiday, just let me know!
-
That’s okay, just let me know a day or more in advance and we can cancel or reschedule the lesson for no charge!
-
Don’t worry, there are a few options!
Some of my students book lessons on an ad hoc basis and will use my online booking system to find individual sessions which suit them. My weekly students quite often cancel sessions, those cancelled sessions are then offered up to my online booking system for my ad hoc students to book. This is perfect for students who can’t commit to a weekly session at a certain time.Alternatively you can let me know which days and times suit you best and I’ll put you on a waiting list. If one of my students moves to a different day or time permanently then I’ll give my waiting list students the first priority to their old slot.

Absolutely. I teach the perfect blend between working towards the next grade/exam and also learning some key skills in other areas which will make you a more well rounded musician.
Students who only do the grades to pass the tests end up with a shiny certificate but no actual skills in the future. Think about it like going on holiday somewhere just to take a picture to prove that you’ve been there, and then immediately leaving. It’s great to show others you’ve been there, but thats not really why you go on holiday! -
You do get some teachers who will travel to you but I have specially designed an environment which gets you the most out of your lessons.

Absolutely, whether it’s acoustic or electric, I have lots of knowledge for you and can get you the best deals. Please feel free to ask me.

Yes, if you’ve already been learning left handed drums then I can cater to you by switching the kit round from right to left. It only takes me 30 seconds to do this.
If you are left handed (like me) and just starting, we’ll learn right handed drums. This sounds counter intuitive but unfortunately the real world doesn’t cater to left handed drummers. Playing a left handed kit doesn’t give you any tactical advantage, you will learn a brand new task at the same rate whether it’s your left or right hand. People in the future will actively exclude left handed drummers in concerts and bands as switching the kit is an extra complication. All drum books are also printed right handed, all of these reasons added up mean that it’s easier to do what I did and just learn the right handed way!
